    VATRY International Airport is a certified European Border Inspection Point.

    Airport fire service personnel are on duty 24 hours a day to ensure appropriate protection of people and property.

      At this modern, state- of- the- art facility, qualified teams of individuals handle and process goods in accordance with the most stringent of regulations. Just like the terminal, the perishable goods centre meets the most demanding security standards. The airport itself is also equipped with the latest in advanced security technology and all delivery docks include a video system that allows carriers to monitor cargo flow on screen, without having to be on- site at the terminal.
    • Access to airport property is controlled by means of :
      • Card readers in restricted access public areas and airport traffic zone (ATZ).
      • Video cameras that continually monitor site activities, especially cargo breakdown areas.

Licensed security personnel on site since 9 March 2001. Vatry’s cargo terminal is equipped with a HI SCAN X-ray scanner.

State- of- the- art facilities :
Measuring a total of 12 000 m2 in area, the 2 cargo terminals have dedicated a full 4 200 m2 for the storage of perishable goods and 8 100 m2 for dry cargo such as materials, spare parts. Both terminals can currently handle up to 120 000 tonnes of freight a year.
Vatry’s perishable goods centre is one of the largest, most modern facilities in Europe and includes 5 cold storage rooms (with temperatures ranging between 2° C and 12° C) designed specifically for fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers, as well as fish, meat and prepared foods.
The centre boasts a refrigeration room reserved for export produce and a 20 m² freezer facility.

European veterinary regulations require the separate handling of various types of food products. Vatry International Airport’s perishable goods centre is certified by European authorities and is a recognized European cargo Border Inspection Point, both of which constitute major competitive advantages for the airport. As a result, products transiting through Vatry can be distributed throughout the European Community with no additional customs approval required.
